8 Apr 2017 - 737-800, 9M-MXX (40161 / 5052), operated by Malaysian Airlines has suffered a collapse of its nose landing-gear following a runway excursion on landing on Runway 13 (9,000ft) at Sibu airport, in northern Malaysia at 14:10z.

Reports from passengers quoted in the Malaymail Online say that the aircraft held for 30 minutes before its first approach which it subsequently aborted and the incident occured on the second landing.

The aircraft departed the left hand side of the runway coming to rest approximately 4000ft from the threshold. The passengers evacuated via the forward door slides. None of the 61 passengers or six crew members was injured.

The airport reopened 2 days later after repairs to the runway.
