03 Dec 2015 - B-2954 737-300F multiple tyre burst on take-off Boeing 737-300, B-2954 (27518 /2768), operated by Zhejiang Loong Air, flight GJ8712, had a multiple tyre burst on take-off from Hangzhou (ZSHC). Reports are that debris was found on the runway after take-off and ATC alerted the crew to it. [As a pilot I cannot imagine that the crew had not heard or felt a multiple tyre burst but those are the reports]. The crew elexted to return to Hangzhou and performed 2 low approaches to allow the gear to be inspected from the ground. The aircraft landed safely 4 hours after it had taken-off. After landing all 4 tyres on the left (port) MLG had burst. It is not clear how many of these bursts were on take-off or landing. Photographs show that the runway was foamed. It is unclear if this was applied before or after landing. |
